Professional Teeth Whitenting
A brighter smile can make a world of difference—whether you’re preparing for a special occasion, boosting your confidence at work, or simply want to refresh your look. Teeth whitening is one of the easiest, safest, and most affordable ways to enhance your appearance.
Many patients tell us they feel years younger after treatment, having lifted stains caused by coffee, red wine, tobacco, and natural ageing.
At The Old Surgery Dental Practice, we offer Boutique Whitening, along with Day White and Night White systems, tailored to suit your goals and lifestyle.

Why Choose Boutique Whitening?
How much whiter can my teeth get?
Boutique Whitening has consistently delivered outstanding results for our patients. It’s a trusted system that combines convenience with clinical effectiveness, offering dramatic improvements in tooth shade—without compromising safety or comfort.
We also continue to use Day White and Night White as part of our adult orthodontic treatments and for patients who prefer a more subtle enhancement rather than aiming for the brightest B1 shade.
Questions we're frequently asked about Teeth Whitening
How much does Boutique Whitening cost?
Prices start from £295
How white will my teeth get?
Teeth can whiten by up to 16 shades. Results vary, but all teeth will show noticeable improvement when used correctly.
Will my teeth look unnaturally white?
No—natural teeth rarely appear “too white.” However, existing crowns or veneers may appear more noticeable if they don’t match your new shade.
Will crowns, veneers or fillings change colour?
No, whitening only affects natural tooth enamel. You may wish to replace restorations after whitening for a more uniform look.
Is there any discomfort?
Some patients experience mild sensitivity during treatment, which usually subsides quickly.
How long does it take?
Typically, 2–4 weeks, depending on the system used and your individual response.
How long do results last?
With simple maintenance—such as wearing your trays for one night every other month—results can last indefinitely.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. The whitening materials we use have been trusted in dentistry for over a century and are clinically proven to be safe when used under professional supervision.
Compliance & Patient Safety in Teeth Whitening
Whitening Is a Prescription-Only Procedure
Teeth whitening products containing more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide can only be prescribed by a dentist. This ensures that your treatment is safe, appropriate, and tailored to your individual dental health. Whitening should never be carried out by non-dental professionals or without a full clinical assessment.
Custom Trays Must Be Checked As part of our compliance protocol:
- All whitening trays must be custom-made and fitted by a dental professional.
- We always check the trays in person to ensure they fit correctly, are comfortable, and do not cause gum irritation or leakage of whitening gel.
- Poorly fitting trays can lead to uneven whitening, sensitivity, or even chemical burns which is why we never compromise on this step.
- Ensures safe and effective results
- Protects your gum health and enamel
- Complies with UK law and GDC standards
- Allows us to monitor and support your progress throughout treatment
From your initial consultation to your final results, our dental team is with you every step of the way. We don’t just hand over whitening kits—we provide clinical supervision, customised care, and ongoing support to ensure your smile transformation is both stunning and safe.
